  • 350g dried short pasta (like small shells)
  • 2 big heads of broccoli
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (or more)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a large pot with salt. Add pasta and cook until al dente.
  2. Chop broccoli and add it to the pot during the last 3 minutes of cooking.
  3. Drain pasta and broccoli in a colander.
  4. In the same pot, heat olive oil over low heat, add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  5. Return drained pasta and broccoli to the pot; mix in lemon juice, shredded cheese, parmesan, herbs, red pepper flakes, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  6. Toss until well combined and creamy. Adjust seasoning if needed before serving.
