Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies (drained)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (11.36 oz) Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is translucent, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and drained green chilies; cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Layer the cooked beef mixture evenly in the baking dish, followed by the sour cream mixture on top.
  6. In another bowl, mix biscuit mix with water until a soft dough forms; spoon dollops over the sour cream layer.
  7. Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top of the biscuit layer.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the biscuit topping is golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
